The previous website just didn’t work, and failed to showcase the unique qualities of The Plough. Our mission was to transform the digital presence, making it an extension of the pub’s welcoming environment while enhancing its functionality for users.
A modern look rooted in tradition
First Step
We modernised the brand’s existing look and feel. Inspired by The Plough’s fresh, contemporary style, we redefined the color palette, incorporating bold forest blue from the original branding and introducing complementary colors like hazelnut and flowerpot, inspired by the wooden accents throughout the venue. This gave the brand a sophisticated yet approachable feel, blending elegance with warmth.
To elevate the design further, we chose timeless typography that captures the pub’s classic charm, while still feeling current and stylish. This combination of bold colors and clean, elegant fonts reflects the balance of The Plough’s modern decor with its deep-rooted connection to the community.
User-Centric Design and Seamless Navigation
Our goal for the new website was to make it as user-friendly as possible, emphasizing clean design and intuitive functionality. The previous website made it difficult for users to navigate through menus or book a table, leading to frustration. In our redesign, we focused on ensuring visitors could access key information effortlessly.
One of the most significant improvements was creating a streamlined booking process. We reduced the number of clicks required to book a table and made sure users could access menus and event details with ease, enhancing overall usability. The site’s structure is simple yet effective, guiding users through the booking process without unnecessary steps or distractions.
Tech Integration
We enhanced The Plough’s new website by integrating it with their existing technology, creating a seamless in-house booking system that eliminates the need for third-party platforms. This streamlined the user experience, offering a consistent and intuitive interface for reservations and event inquiries. Designed for scalability, the integration ensures that The Plough’s system can grow and adapt as their needs evolve.
Launching Ahead of Peak Season
Timing was critical for this project, and we’re proud to say that the new website was designed, built, and launched ahead of the main seasonal period. This allowed The Plough to maximize exposure and welcome customers during their busiest time of year, with a fully functional and visually stunning site that reflects the pub’s atmosphere.
